Heart Skills for the Win!

On March 9th, Relatus won the Learning Solution of the Year (external) award at the Institute for Learning & Performance's 2023 Asia Pacific Learning Impact Awards. This award recognises 18 years of passion and commitment to refine and develop soft, social, and emotional skills that align with career and business outcomes to ensure success.

Julia Palmer, CEO of Relatus, expressed her gratitude, stating, "It's a win for heart skills to see this training program being endorsed and celebrated by an industry association and the Learning & Development community as the winner. Developing relational capabilities to support people's individual talents can only accelerate results and lead to better outcomes. Refining how we interact, engage, and grow our networks is key to a more successful future."

Relatus works with all job titles in every industry and would like to dedicate this to each and every client that has worked with us since 2005 to help their people connect more meaningfully. This award submission was as the external training provider to UNSW, working collaboratively with academic researchers through facilitating a customised Relationship Networking Program (RNP). One participant spoke about the effectiveness of the program, stating, "As a result of this training program, I am being more deliberate and proactive about my networking. I am focusing on listening and asking appropriate questions to learn about my contacts and develop better relationships."

According to research by Relatus, 84% of people do not have a strategy to network and manage relationships. Their award-winning programs are dedicated to achieving learning transfer and inspiring behavioural change in participants. The Relationship Networking Program is a culmination of decades of research and experience and is the signature program offered to clients.

The Director, Knowledge Exchange, UNSW Sydney, said, "Gone are the days when deep technical and subject matter expertise alone are sufficient for success. Julia is an outstanding communicator and facilitator, and I cannot recommend her highly enough to all sectors and disciplines."

Investing in people and their relational capabilities should be a top focus. Combining human and social skills is the key to growing an organisation's competitive advantage. When your talent is more confident and comfortable to engage, you will gain the human advantage in business.
